The Poulter Hotel, Scarborough is a small, clean, nicely decorated hotel situated in a picturesque quiet square in the very heart of Scarborough.

Most rooms have just undergone extensive upgrades and redecoration.

We are Just across the road from the railway station & major bus stops to destinations, such as Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and the North Yorkshire Moors to name but a few. Scarboroughs award winning beaches are a few minutes away, as are the town center shops and amenities.


The renowned, award winning Stephen Joseph Theater is just across the road too and we are close to the newly renovated open area theatre which has just been opened by The Queen.

The owner, Lynne has been running the hotel for the last 18 years. Her biggest assets are her staff, mainly Wendy, the slightly dippy manageress who has been working here for the last 17 years.

The hotel comprises of a large airy ground floor dining room, 4 family rooms (1 with shower en suite), 1 small double, 2 twin rooms and 2 singles. All the rooms are well decorated and have their own televisions and tea and coffee making facilities.

Guests enjoy a 9 o’clock breakfast of cereals, full English cook up, Lynne’s home made bread and endless supplies of tea, coffee and toast.

All rooms are serviced daily. The Poulter Hotel aims to provide a very friendly welcoming atmosphere, where we like our guests to look upon the hotel as a home from home.

People come back time and again and end up as friends. We are proud to boast an ever increasing register of guests who have been coming to the Poulter now for over a decade.
